Description | The OliVAr project aims to develop an automated system for the detection and control of pests in olive cultivation. Using advanced technologies such as sensors, vision cameras and intelligent software, the system monitors in real time the presence of pests such as olive fruit flies, prais, beetles and glyphodes. The system processes environmental data, such as temperature and humidity, to optimise integrated pest management (IPM) strategies. This will allow farmers to reduce the use of crop protection products and improve crop sustainability by making informed decisions on the right timing of treatments. |
